Last year I made a resolution to take my camera everywhere I went so I could capture more of our daily lives. I genuinely believe that everyday moments are special and these are the memories that are most important. I failed miserably in my resolution however, because no exaggeration – my big bulky professional camera weighs like 10 lbs! Most of the time, I just didn’t want to lug it around. For Christmas, I asked for a small, portable, take everywhere camera. So this year I have no excuse. I’ve also put together a class geared toward groups of moms to teach them how to take ‘everyday special’ photos of their families! More on that later! If anyone is interested in the camera I got, I was torn between the fujifilm x100t and a mirrorless micro 4:3 – I went back and forth but ultimately decided on an Olympus OM-D E-M10 II with a 17mm 1.8 lens because I figured it offered a bit more flexibility with the option to purchase additional lenses if I ever decided. So far I really like it, but it’s brand new, so before I give any reviews, I want to play with it a bit more..
Yesterday we decided to brave the crowds at Disneyland for a couple of hours and we were pleasantly surprised.. it was crowded.. Disneyland is ALWAYS crowded.. but it was not nearly as bad as I expected. We got on 5 or so rides and had a nice lunch in New Orleans square before heading home. One of the perks to having an older child, is that you always have a build in babysitter. When we got home, we dropped the kids off and hubby and I caught a showing of the movie Jackie. A great start to the new year!
